*REMINDER* 11th Annual Christmas Arts & Craft Fair Nov. – Dec. 24th:
Staff and volunteers at the Campbell River Art Gallery are busily decking the halls to prepare for the 11th Annual Christmas Arts and Crafts Market. The Victorian-themed Christmas Market opens Thursday, Nov. 10 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. After 5 p.m. Nov. 10, the public is invited to stop by for a cup of hot apple cider and a Christmas treat while they spend some time browsing the beautiful boutique. With at least 21 new artisans featured, the Market will be bigger and better than ever and will provide Christmas shoppers with the opportunity to purchase quality handcrafts, support local artisans and support the Campbell River Art Gallery. The Market will be open from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Christmas Eve. The Gallery is planning artisan demos every Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. during the Christmas Market, so make sure to stop in and see an artisan at work!

Holiday Kids Escape - December 19, 20, 21 & 22: Do you have a ton of errands to complete next week before Christmas? The kids are out of school and will have to tag along OR you can register them in Holiday Kids Escape at the Community Centre. Youth leaders will entertain them from 11am-4 pm on Dec. 19, 20, 21, 22 with games, crafts, baking and gym time! $25 per day. Register for one or all of them at the Community Centre or Sportsplex. Timberline Christmas Tree Sale December 15th to 21st: Timberline 2012 grads will be selling Christmas trees at Discovery Foods to raise money for their dry grad festivities. Trees are $30.00ea. WEDNESDAY December 21

Celebrate a Life Christmas Concert: Please join the Campbell River Hospice Society as they host this fun evening of Country hits and Christmas Classics with a multi-artist acoustic concert that the whole family will enjoy!  We will be featuring award winning Canadian Country Music singer/songwriters: Gary Fjellgaard, Samantha King, Jake Matthews, Sue Medley, Pear, and Duane Steele. In conjunction with this concert, the Hospice Society will be holding their annual Celebrate-A-Life event.  On December 21st, you will have an opportunity to remember a loved one by placing a dove on one of Hospice's Christmas Trees during Tidemark's business hours as well as before, during intermission and after the concert.  The Trees of Remembrance will also be available during Tidemark's regular business hours on December 22nd.  Order Tickets: $30 Admission, $27 Tidemark Members. 4th Annual Enchanted Forest Auction: The Campbell River Hospital Foundation is proud to present the 4th Annual Enchanted Forest. This year’s proceeds from auctioning off the wonderfully decorated and gift-bearing trees will go towards the purchase of a fetal monitor for the maternity department. This year Santa has promised to visit during the event and we would like to invite parents and grandparents to bring their little ones and a camera to take free holiday pictures, and join us for the exciting tree auction night. Texada Tapestry, A History: Book Launch with Heather Harbord: Author Heather Harbord, who wrote the bestselling local history book Desolation Sound, will be at the Museum to promote her new book about Texada Island. Interviewing more than one hundred local people and old timers, she has created a book with unforgettable characters and humorous anecdotes. Included are many previously unpublished photographs.  Texada Island is the largest island in the Strait of Georgia, and the only one of the Gulf Islands to support an industry. Sea Spray Alley Opening: Island Style Creative Studio, Harbour Nail and Spa, Pier Street Billiards and Raincoast Creative Arts Dance Studio will be hosting an all-day event celebrating the naming of the funky hallway that connects all of their entrances. Join them from for a silent auction, door prizes and valuable coupons for their services. Bring a donation item for the Food Bank and your name will be entered to win something from each store. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the women’s shelter. Also, live music at Island Style Studio in the evening!

November 10th to December 24th11th Annual Christmas Arts & Craft Fair: Staff and volunteers at the Campbell River Art Gallery are busily decking the halls to prepare for the 11th Annual Christmas Arts and Crafts Market. The Victorian-themed Christmas Market opens Thursday, Nov. 10 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. After 5 p.m. Nov. 10, the public is invited to stop by for a cup of hot apple cider and a Christmas treat while they spend some time browsing the beautiful boutique. With at least 21 new artisans featured, the Market will be bigger and better than ever and will provide Christmas shoppers with the opportunity to purchase quality handcrafts, support local artisans and support the Campbell River Art Gallery. The Market will be open from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Christmas Eve. The Gallery is planning artisan demos every Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. during the Christmas Market, so make sure to stop in and see an artisan at work!

Sing-Along Sound of Music: Yes, it's been around the World, and now it's coming to Campbell River! Having started in the UK back in 1999 Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music has now become a worldwide phenomenon, playing to packed houses across the globe! It even filled the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles! For those of you not yet converted, Sing-a-Long-a Sound of Music is a screening of the classic Julie Andrews film musical in glorious, full-screen Technicolor, complete with subtitles so that the whole audience can sing along!
The fun-filled evening starts with a vocal warm-up led by your host for the night, who will also take you through your complimentary 'magic moments pack' containing various props to be used at strategic points throughout the show. Then of course there is the famous "fancy-dress" competition in which everyone who has come in costume is invited onto the stage to show off their fantastic tailoring skills.
