First Week of June

Welcome to the first week of June! Although the month has started off on a slightly wet day, we're hoping it's just a sign of the good weather to come.

There are quite a few exciting things to check out around Campbell Rive this week. Tonight, of course, is the start of the Vancouver Canucks vs. Boston Playoff games. Come into town and find a place to celebrate with your fellow hockey fans and cheer on your team!
If Hockey isn't your thing, Serious Coffee in Willow Point will be having its weekly Jam Session tonight beginning at 6:30 pm, a good chance to enjoy a nice environment with great music.

On Friday, June 3rd, the Dragonboat Fundraiser will be taking place at the Maritime Heritage Centre. They will be putting on a night of Murder, Mystery and Suspicion as they go through the tale of Giorgio Tortellini. Guests have the chance to be part of the action in interpretating clues while enjoying delicious appetizers provided by Chedder & Co. Tickets are available at Chedder & Co. on Shoppers Row for $35 and the event will begin at 6:30 pm Friday.
Friday will also provide an opportunity to join in on the open mic night at Serious Coffee, an event perfect for a family night out, or even some fun with some friends.

Saturday, June 4th will mark another Ocean's Day in Campbell River and everyone is welcome to come down to the Maritime Heritage Centre to celebrate. There will be exhibits, touch tanks, boat safety, free fishing at the pier, a bounce-a-rama, dunk tank and of course some music to help liven the event.
The Knights of Columbus will be hosting their 8th annual Lobster Dinner on Saturday night beginning at 5pm, where guests will be offered Atlantic Lobster, spuds, salads and of course dessert. Entertainment will be provided by the Tara School of Irish Dancing and a silent auction (and of course the hockey game). Tickets can be aquired at the Parish office for $30 each.

On June 6th and 7th, Campbell River will be hosting the Van Isle 360, an International Yacht race. The 6th will also be another open mic night at Serious Coffee in Willow Point from 6-9pm.
Tuesday June 7th will be this summer's first Lunch in the Square. Bag your lunch and come down to Spirit Square from 11:30am to 1pm to enjoy some music and relaxation!
