MONDAY Dec. 5
*REMINDER* 11th Annual Christmas Arts & Crafts Fair; November 10 – December 24:
Staff and volunteers at the Campbell River Art Gallery are busily decking the halls to prepare for the 11th Annual Christmas Arts and Crafts Market. The Victorian-themed Christmas Market opens Thursday, Nov. 10 from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. After 5 p.m. Nov. 10, the public is invited to stop by for a cup of hot apple cider and a Christmas treat while they spend some time browsing the beautiful boutique. With at least 21 new artisans featured, the Market will be bigger and better than ever and will provide Christmas shoppers with the opportunity to purchase quality handcrafts, support local artisans and support the Campbell River Art Gallery. The Market will be open from Monday to Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. until Christmas Eve. The Gallery is planning artisan demos every Saturday from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. during the Christmas Market, so make sure to stop in and see an artisan at work!

TUESDAY Dec. 6
Texada Tapestry, A History: Book Launch with Heather Harbord: Author Heather Harbord, who wrote the bestselling local history book Desolation Sound, will be at the Museum to promote her new book about Texada Island. Interviewing more than one hundred local people and old timers, she has created a book with unforgettable characters and humorous anecdotes. Included are many previously unpublished photographs.  Texada Island is the largest island in the Strait of Georgia, and the only one of the Gulf Islands to support an industry. Its colourful past as a mining community and the site of illegal activity make it a fascinating subject. 6:30pm at the Museum. For more information please call 250-287-3103.

WEDNESDAY Dec. 7
The Nylons Christmas: With seven gold & platinum recordings, this four member vocal group is a true international success story. Known for their great a cappella sound, dazzling harmonies and smooth arrangements, the Nylons immense appeal has taken them across North America, Europe, Australia, China and Japan. 7:30pm at the Tidemark Theatre. Tickets are $40 for non-members and $35 for members. Available now at the box office.

Jam Night: Every Wednesday evening a group of musicians sit around and share music in and informal, relaxed setting. Everyone is welcome to come and join in or just sit and listen.

THURSDAY Dec. 8
Campbellton Village Christmas: Please join us for festive choral singers, hot dogs, office tours and some warm Christmas Cheer. At 1631 Island Highway in Campbellton from 3pm till 6pm. In keeping with the spirit of the season there will be a Food Bank Donation box on site for non-perishable food items and unwrapped toys/gifts.

FRIDAY Dec. 9
Storm Game: Bring the whole family out to Strathcona Gardens and cheer on the Campbell River Storm as they take on the Oceanside Generals. Puck drops at 7:30 sharp! Go Storm!!!

Willow Point Starlight Shopping: 9:00am to 9:00pm no HST!

“Dear Santa” Dec. 9 and 10:  Santa Claus tries to fulfill a child's special Christmas wish while his staff attempts to overcome a supply shortage at the North Pole. This is a laugh-filled holiday play innocent enough for the youngest boy or girl and entertaining enough for adults. 7pm evening show. Tickets are $23 and available at the Tidemark Theatre Box Office 250-287-7465.

Sea Spray Alley Opening: Island Style Creative Studio, Harbour Nail and Spa, Pier Street Billiards and Raincoast Creative Arts Dance Studio will be hosting an all-day event celebrating the naming of the funky hallway that connects all of their entrances. Join them from for a silent auction, door prizes and valuable coupons for their services. Bring a donation item for the Food Bank and your name will be entered to win something from each store. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the women’s shelter. Also, live music at Island Style Studio in the evening!

First Christmas at Sybil Andrews Cottage/Grandmothers to Grandmothers Craft Fair: Sybil Andrews Cottage will open its doors at 5pm to its debut its Campbell River winter events scene. Come to the cottage to enjoy the festive atmosphere, learn about Sybil Andrews and the significance of the cottage in the Campbell River heritage fabric. SUNDAY Dec. 11
Reindeer Run: ShoreRunners Specialty Running Store presents the 2011 Reindeer Run along the Seawalk! 5km walk or run! Bring the entire family! Pier Street Christmas Market: The Best assortment of Christmas crafts and gift ideas comes to the MARITIME HERITAGE CENTRE on the first three Sundays in December. 50 (plus) vendors! The Campbell River Children’s Choir will be entertaining us all on Sunday, December 4th and on Sunday, December 18th, which is one more reason to visit. Our admission is only $1 for adults and kids are free. 10-3:30pm. The kitchen is open all day, so come for lunch. Bring a shopping bag to carry home your loot!
