Artists Mary Deveau and Shannon McKirgan with the CR Art Gallery will be hosting this summer camp from 9AM to 3PM Monday through Friday (15th to 19th) so budding artists will have an opportunity to investigate a variety of materials. Kids should be prepared to make a mess as they become immersed in creating. $175 for members, $185 otherwise – drop by or call to register:

The old gang will take to the stage once again, with featured appearances by Peter Puget, Lord Bacon, and even Captain Vancouver. The shows are 20 minutes long and will be followed by a themed craft. Active History Afternoons: Logging Day

These fantastic themed afternoons at the Museum at Campbell River strive to take you back in time to experience history firsthand. Themes will include logging, fishing, and early exploration and each afternoon will involve unique activities and crafts. Come and join the summer staff at the Museum for these exciting Wednesday afternoons – participation is free with regular admission!

WYLD Camp: Backcountry Beginnings

For ages 14 to 16, by the end of this moderately challenging backcountry introduction participants will be leading the group as they travel by sea kayak and by foot in the Strathcona Park wilderness. Runs July 20th to 27th and the cost is $1095

Pink Salmon Festival July 27th
            An awareness event to inform the public about the pink salmon species, often considered “beneath” Chinook and Coho salmon they are an abundant and sustainable food source as well as being a delicious alternative to other species. The festival will feature a pink salmon BBQ prepared by the Kinsmen Club of Campbell River, as well as exhibits and family activities at Robert Ostler Park from 12PM to 4PM. There will be no charge for admission.  
River City Arts Fest 2013 July 27th
            River City Arts Fest will be held on July 27th 2013 from 10am until 6pm.  To date the event has officially registered over 100 artists from the North Island and surrounding islands. A diverse collection of works of art will be on public exhibition and sale at the Spirit Square with a street closure in effect along Shoppers Row from dusk until dawn.          
Discovery Islands Festival of Chamber Music 2013 July 26th to 29th

All Levels Kripalu Yoga: Thursdays at Ocean Resort 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm - Build on the basic postures and explore some advanced asanas to build strength and endurance. Use Pranayama techniques (breathing exercises) to delve into the vibrations of the body. Discover an open mind to sensations in the body as we hold postures beyond our initial desire to release. BBQ at the Beach Salmon has been a staple food of the natives of the Pacific Northwest for thousands of years.  Sandwiched between split cedar poles the salmon is cooked slowly over an open fire.  Enjoy traditionally cooked wild salmon at our beach side BBQ area every Wednesday evening during July and August.
