to 19th) so budding artists will have an opportunity to investigate
a variety of materials. Kids should be prepared to make a mess as they become

backcountry introduction participants will be leading the group as they travel

Pink Salmon Festival – July 27th
An awareness event to inform the public about the pink salmon species,
often considered “beneath” Chinook and Coho salmon they are an abundant and
sustainable food source as well as being a delicious alternative to other
species. The festival will feature a pink salmon BBQ prepared by the Kinsmen
Club of Campbell River, as well as exhibits and family activities at Robert
Ostler Park from 12PM to 4PM. There will be no charge for admission.
River City Arts Fest 2013 – July 27th
River City Arts Fest will be held on July 27th
2013 from 10am until 6pm. To date the event has officially registered
over 100 artists from the North Island and surrounding islands. A diverse
collection of works of art will be on public exhibition and sale at the Spirit
Square with a street closure in effect along Shoppers Row from dusk until dawn.

Beach Salmon has been a staple food of the
natives of the Pacific Northwest for thousands of years. Sandwiched
between split cedar poles the salmon is cooked slowly over an open fire.
Enjoy traditionally cooked wild salmon at our beach side BBQ area every
