- STORIES of Home is a free pre-workshop to the International Potluck Celebration on November 13th during which you will create art to display at the upcoming event. Facilitated by Elizabeth Russell, participants will share stories of home, their immigration journeys, and express their ideas and memories of home through creative drawings. 6-8pm at the Community Centre craft room. - Sing for Fun is a weekly event (Friday or Wednesday) from 10am-11am in the Community Centre Lounge. $2 drop-in for all ages, stages, and abilities this program is originally designed as music therapy. Call 250-286-1161 or email judy.ridgeway@campbellriver.ca with any questions.
Thursday, November 7th
- Tidemark Lounge presents Corwin Fox and Miss Emily - 7pm, $10 at the door.
- Artisans Christmas Market Opens at Public Art Gallery, 12pm – 8pm browse through a gorgeous boutique-style market to find that special gift. From 5pm onwards they will have hot apple cider, Christmas goodies and acoustic guitar from local musician Collin Massie! The Market will continue until December 24th, open Monday to Saturday 10am to 5pm (excluding Remembrance Day).
- The Immigrant Welcome Centre is hosting another Expatriate Tea Party at the British Shop in downtown CR at 6pm and all immigrants are invited to join! The tea party provides an opportunity to socialize with fellow immigrant and for the Centre to gain a better understanding of how they can support English speaking immigrants. Friday, November 8th
- Friday night at the Movies (2nd Friday of the Month): enjoy a relaxing skate while watching a G/PG film with your family. Admission fee includes 2 slices of Pizza and a juice box. 5:15-8pm, movie starts at 6PM; $4per person or $10per family.
- ‘Monsters of the Fiddle’ is back at the Big Yellow Merville Hall, 7:30pm – tickets available at the Music Plant ($20/$10). At this concert you’ll hear a range of music from haunting airs to high-speed novelty numbers, plus plenty of reels, jigs, swing tunes, jazz licks and dreamy Canadian waltzes.
Saturday, November 9th
- Holiday Pottery Sale & Show at the Sportsplex (1800 South Alder) from 11am to 4pm. Featuring the work of potters from Campbell River, Quadra Island and the Comox Valley. CR Food Bank will be accepting food or cash donations at the event.
- Lego Day at the Museum! Another wonderful opportunity to put that creative brain power to use – 1pm-2:30pm. Parents are welcome to co-create with their kids, cost is $5, call the Museum at 250-287-3103 to register.
- Canadian Country Music singer/songwriter Brent Kissell will be at the Tidemark Theatre, 7:30pm. A dynamic performer, the 22-year-old is ready to make an imposing impression on the global country music scene. This is a licensed event (19+ with ID) and tickets are $27 +tax.
