Monday, May 19th

  • The Canadian Antiques Roadshow is coming to Campbell River May 19th, 20th & 21st. 9:30am-5pm at the Anchor Inn each day. What’s in your treasure chest or up in the attic?? $20 per item inspection/appraisal or 3 items for $50.  
  • Last day for the Annual Art & Bloom Festival at Kitty Coleman Gardens, 10am-4pm.

Tuesday, May 20th

Thursday, May 22nd

  • Carihi Musical Theatre Presents “Bonnie & Clyde”. Show runs May 22nd-25th at 7pm with a 2pm matinee on May 24th. Tickets are $12, available at the Carihi Office or by calling 250-286-6282. Some mature content, violence and language. 
  •  “Back to the Garden” at the Tidemark Theatre with Doug Cox, Daniel Lapp and a who’s who of Victoria musical talent. Described as a ‘West Coast’ sound and ‘a melting pot for roots, folk, blues, swing, indie, honky-tonk and alt-country’. Doors open at 7pm and the show is at 8pm – this is a licensed event so all patrons must be 19+. Tickets at 250-287-PINK.

Friday, May 23rd

  • Ladies Night at Shelter Point Distillery, 6-9pm with the Young Professionals of Campbell River; to enquire about this event, please email info@ypcampbellriver.com or RSVP at rsvp@ypcampbellriver.com. Networking, great food and sampling the Distillery’s products are just a few of the exciting things planned, in addition to the featured speaker, Shannan Brown, relating her experiences in Tanzania supporting women to become entrepreneurs. 
  • 20th Annual Painters at Painter’s! Over 1000 guests, celebrating prominent BC artists in a gorgeous resort setting, with demonstrations, discussions and beautiful art transpiring at the master’s hands right in front of you! www.painterslodge.com

Saturday, May 24th

  • Quadra Island Community Market & Bazaar: arts, crafts, flea market finds, jewelry, soaps and more at the Quadra Community Centre, 10am. Yummy lunches, too – everyone welcome! Please call 250-285-3747 for more information. 
  • Saratoga Speedway! Gates open at 5:30pm, racing starts at 7pm. More info at SaratogaRacing.ca/2014-race-schedule 
  • The Museum is hosting Makilikwilla artist Wayne Bell to take participants on another traditional Cedar Pull and Weaving adventure. Call the museum for more info or to register: 250-287-3103 
  • Dingle to Dublin features the Tara School of Irish Dancers & John Reynolds at the Tidemark Theatre, 2pm. The beauty, history and culture of Ireland brought vividly to life! 
  •  “Stitch ‘n Bitch” at the Museum with Beth Boyce as part of the “Threads Through Time” exhibit, 2-4pm. Knit, crochet, sew, quilt, spin, weave, stitch and socialize! There will be staff on hand from Needle & Arts Centre to help any beginners get started. Admission by donation and all are welcome to this fun, casual event! Coffee, tea and some sweet treats will be available. 
  • Slopstacle Fun for all ages at Strathcona Gardens from 2-4pm! 
  • Join Greenways Land Trust and Tim Hortons in their annual Broom Bash! 10am till noon at the BMX track on Homewood Road. Timmies will be on site with coffee, water, T-shirts and timbits for all volunteers! Wear sturdy shoes and sensible clothes. Gloves and cutting equipment will be provided. Families are welcome. 
  • North Island College is hosting free information sessions on their Metal Jewelry Program; meet students and instructors, 4pm. 250-923-9724. 
  • The Campbell River Head Injury Society is hosting their 7th Annual Handyman Challenge event! Come by their site on 9th avenue to check out the builders and the mini-market (9am-5pm)! 
  • Musical evening at the Community Centre featuring the band “Inclusion” with guest performer RIVER (Birgit Kuit) with the Department of Parks Recreation & Culture – 7-9pm, admission by donation; refreshments will be available and all proceeds go to help the homeless.

 Sunday, May 25th  

  • Pier Street Famers Market & Arts Fair: Sundays 10am-2:30pm down between the Maritime Heritage Centre and the Fishing Pier. Fresh breakfast, lunch, coffees, pastries, breads, arts and crafts, live entertainment and more!! 
  • 2nd Annual Defeat Depression 2.5km Walk at Robert Ostler Park. Registration begins at 9:30am, there will be a warm-up from 10:15-10:45 (Ocean Mountain Yoga) and the walk begins at 11am. Donations of $15 (adults) or $10 (students) will go towards the Mood Disorders Society of Canada and the CR Beacon Club which helps adults cope with mental illness. 
  • Carihi Musical Theatre Presents “Bonnie & Clyde”, CLOSING NIGHT, 7pm.
