  • “Come Back to Bed” by Fanny Bay artist Madeleine Wood now showing at the Public Art Gallery. Join us at 7pm to hear an illustrated artist’s talk at the opening of this new exhibition.

Friday, June 13th

  • David James & Big River: tribute to Johnny Cash at the Tidemark Theatre. With the look, the moves and the sound, James bring to live five decades of hits, including “Ring of Fire”, Rock Island Line”, “Daddy Sang Bass”, “Man in Black”, “Walk the Line” and so many more!   • 8th Annual BC Shellfish and Seafood Festival in the Comox Valley – a unique event that offers 10 days of fabulous seafood tastings, informative aquaculture producer tours, signature dinner events, competitions and family fun! Runs till June 22nd. www.discovercomoxvalley.com

Saturday, June 14th

  • 5th Annual Wine & Blues Fest by the Sea at the Maritime Heritage Centre – tickets ($50) available at the Visitor Centre and the Royal Coachman Liquor Store; any leftover tickets can be purchased at the door. This event features both BC and international wines paired with Maple Blues award winner David Vest! Wine, appys, chocolate treats, blues, a silent auction and much more! 7-9:30pm
  • Mineral Club’s Annual Rock and Gem Show at Timberline Secondary. Featuring lapidary demonstrations, fossil and rock displays and you can bring your favourite rock to “Ask an Expert”. Vendors will be selling rough rock, slabs, beads, crystals, jewelry and lapidary tools. 10am, $3 admission. Contact 250-923-1740 or www.ripplerockgemandmineralclub.com for info. 
  • Quadra Island Community Market & Bazaar: arts, crafts, flea market finds, jewelry, soaps and more at the Quadra Community Centre, 10am. Yummy lunches, too – everyone welcome! Please call 250-285-3747 for more information. 
  • Join the Habitat for Humanity ReStore ‘ReRockers’ for an afternoon of fun-raising at Spirit Square. Between noon and 3pm the ReRockers will be leading the crowds in song and dance – come kick up your heels, grab a burger (Marine Harvest’s famous Salmon Burgers) and learn more about Habitat for Humanity in CR.

Sunday, June 15th
  • 47th annual Fathers Day Pancake Breakfast from 8am-12pm at the Community Centre. Adults are $6, children are $3 and seniors are FREE! Pancakes & sausages, coffee, tea and juice and live entertainment!

  • Intertidal Walk with the Museum for Father’s Day, 12-2pm; guided exploration with biologist Sandra Milligan. Call 250-287-3103 to register ($15/$7.50) Dress appropriately! 
  • Pier Street Famers Market & Arts Fair: Sundays 10am-2:30pm down between the Maritime Heritage Centre and the Fishing Pier. Fresh breakfast, lunch, coffees, pastries, breads, arts and crafts, live entertainment and more!!
