Looking for things to do this week in beautiful Campbell River? How about going to see this summer's first
Lunch in the Square. Today, starting at 11:30 am, musical artist
Emily Spiller will be performing in the Spirit Square until 1 pm and everyone is invited to head on down and listen to this great free performance.
If your looking to continue on with your musical experiance, Wednesday evening means another
Jam night at Serious Coffee in Willow Point. Everyone is welcome to come in and join, or just sit and listen.
Thursday night is going to be a big night in the Spirit Square as the
River Concert Series presents thier first performance of the summer, Comox Valley's own
Time Well Wasted, an impressive 11-piece band with 3 vocalists and a horn section. Hot coffee will be available on site to enjoy while listening.
As much of you have probably heard through both fundraising and the newspaper, Campbell River's
Relay For Life will be taking place on Friday, June 10th beginning at 7pm. Campbell River has always been a great supporter of this event, and the community is always able to pull together to send a immense contribution to this great cause, so why not come by Pheonix Middle School and celebrate our success?!
This Saturday is going to be a great chance to get out of the house and enjoy the many events going on! At the Quinsam Hall there will be the
River of Thunder Show & Shine 2011, which will include a Bike Rodeo, Toy Run, Battle of the Bands, Beer Gardens and much more! There will even be a dance at night featuring the very popular band
Mr. Completely. The dance tickets for this are $20 and are on sale at White Hat Cleaners, Super Video and Steve Marshall Ford.
The annual
Rock and Gem Show, put on by the Ripple Rock Gem and Mineral Club, will also be held on Saturday at the Timberline gym. Admission is $3 and the event will also be taking place on Sunday, June 12th.
For those of you looking to take part in some volunteer services, the
Broom Bash 2011 will be held on Saturday beginning at 10 am at the Myrt Thompson Trail off the end of Maple Street. This is an annual event held in order to join together to remove harmful, invasive plants in the Campbell River Estuary. All equipment will be provided for those wishing to join in, as well as coffee and timbits.
And, of course, the 2nd annual
Wine and Blues Festival by the Sea presented by Campbell River's Daybreak Rotary will also be taking place on Saturday at the Maritime Heritage Building beginning at 6pm. Tickets are $50 and can be bought right here at the Campbell River Visitor Centre, at the Royal Coachman Liquor Store, or at the Merecroft Village Liquor Store. Come and enjoy the great appys, music, and of course wine provided for you!
