March 28^th – Expatriate Tea Party

On Thursday March 28th, 2013 the Campbell River Immigrant Welcome Centre is hosting a traditional style Expatriate Tea Party. The tea party starts at 4:00 pm at the Robron Centre and includes tea and snacks, as well as a great discussion among fantastic people. This is a great way to socialize with other people in your community while relaxing and sipping a cup of tea. So whether you are from the UK, the US, New Zealand or Australia or anywhere else from under the sun, we invite you to join us in our first ever Expatriate Tea Party. March 30^th – David Gogo on Quadra Island
David Gogo Dinner Show Saturday March 30 in Herons at the Heriot Bay Inn. Gogo is a multiple Blues Music Award winner who adds heart, soul and grit to the international blues scene. $40/pp includes dinner. Reservations highly recommended: 250.285.3322.

March 30^th – Downtown BIA Easter Events

Downtown Campbell River will be hopping this Easter Saturday, March 30 with lots of activities to keep families entertained. This is the perfect time to hold an outdoor event and the BIA is proud to present its fourth annual Easter Festivities. With Spring just around the corner what better way to celebrate? An Easter Egg Hunt in Ostler Park with the Easter Bunny himself will be followed by a fun-filled afternoon featuring an animal activity farm, music, dancing, face painting, clowns, and crafts at the Art Gallery. Easter baskets and chocolate for 300 children. Our Spirit Square will be filled with entertainment!

From 11:00am to 3:00pm.

March 30^th – Northgate Free Store

Northgate Foursquare has opened a free clothing store to serve the community of Campbell River. We have clothes for all ages and invite you to come and see how we might assist you.

Open the last Saturday of each month. The store is open from 10 am to 12 pm.

Donations of good clean clothes will also be accepted at the above times.

March 30^th – Spring Rail Jam at Mount Washington

Come out and test your jibbing skills in our fun Spring Rail Jam. Our spring park will be sculpted in front of the alpine lodge for great spectator shots. Sponsored by Dragon, Bern, 32 and Nitro there will be great prizes to be won. Male/female, ski/board and age divisions 13 & under, 14-17, 18+

Each category requires a minimum of five participants or competitors will be bumped a category.

Registration: $10 + $5 bib deposit

Open Mic: Get on stage and rock out with a supportive audience… come to Open Mic at the HBI Pub (Heriot Bay Inn) Saturday evenings. Bring your instrument and/or voice and get up and perform… or be a supportive audience member.  

Drop In Meditation: Drop in, one hour meditation (guided if requested), every Tuesday evening at 7pm, at Ocean Resort (downstairs at the retreat centre). All Levels Kripalu Yoga: Thursdays at Ocean Resort 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm - Build on the basic postures and explore some advanced asanas to build strength and endurance. Use Pranayama techniques (breathing exercises) to delve into the vibrations of the body. Discover an open mind to sensations in the body as we hold postures beyond our initial desire to release. Open to all levels, but best if you know the basics. $15.

Gem & Mineral Club Meeting: Meetings of the Ripple Rock Gem and Mineral Club of Campbell River are held the 2nd Friday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Craft Room of the Community Centre, Campbell River (except July & August).  All interested persons are welcome to attend and learn more about the Club.
