Tuesday, January 7th
- After the scrumptious success of the fall cooking class series, the International Cooking Class with the Immigrant Welcome Centre are back at Robron Centre, room A114 every Tuesday from 6pm-8pm (January 7th, 14th, 21st & 28th). Each class is $35 or the series of four classes for $100. All registration fees are donated to the International Women’s Group in support of their activities, day trips and guest speakers. Wednesday, January 8th
- Campbell River Garden Club Open House, 7pm-9pm at 260 South Dogwood (CR Baptist Church). Come see what we’re all about – the Garden Club is a forum for gathering and sharing local and expert gardening knowledge and materials, during regular meets as well as visits to gardens and nurseries and through special projects and associated social events. New members welcome – annual memberships are $20/individual, $30/couple. Join for the gardening – stay for the friendships! Handicapped access is available through the dogwood street entrance; meeting will take place in the ‘Band Room’ via the North Entrance (facing the school across the parking lot). Thursday, January 9th
- The Snowed in Comedy Tour is back at the Tidemark Theatre. Returning is Arj Barker with two letterman appearances and most recognized from the hit HBO sitcom flight of the Conchords (their best friend, Dave). Just for Laughs winner Dan Quinn is back along with Edinburgh Fringe fest nominee Peter Johansson. The wild man MC Craig Campbell returns for his sixth tour of duty. Don’t miss this evening out which promises to be more fun than a barrel of monkeys. Call 250-287-7465 for more information. This is a licensed event and ID will be required at the door. Show is a 8pm.
Friday, January 10th
- Friday Night at the Movies is back! On the second Friday of every month you can enjoy a relaxing skate on the leisure ice at Strathcona Gardens while watching a family movie (G or PG). Call 250-287-9234 for details or to find out what’s playing. Admission fee ($4/person or $10/family) includes 2 slices of Little Caesars Pizza and a juice box. From 5:15pm till 8pm with the movie starting at 6pm.

Saturday, January 11th
- Freeman & Hill will be giving another Folk Music Concert – no admission cost & no cover charge! 2pm-4pm at Salmon Point Restaurant. Seating is a bit limited, so reservations are recommended (250-923-7272).
- Black Creek Community Centre Open House from 9am-1:00pm. Come and see what the Centre has to offer. Enjoy free classes all morning, grab a snack, learn about local businesses promoting health in the Valley and win a prize! The fitness room will be open 11am-1pm where you can ask a trainer questions.

Sunday, January 12th
- Check out the Front Runners Island Race Series - Everything from 5K to Half-Marathon. Register online for the series or individual races: www.vira.bc.ca. The series takes place between January 12th and April 13th with a 15K race at 11am, April 6th in Merville. All ages and speeds welcome!
- Vancouver musicians Marcus Takizawa and Sarah Hagen bring a recital of classical music for viola and piano to Campbell River on Sunday afternoon with a program of sonatas by Bach and Brahms as well as two works by Vaughn Williams. 2pm at Trinity Presbyterian Church (145 Simms Road); tickets are $25 ($20 for seniors and $10 for students!).
