Thanksgiving Food Drive – 16th to 21st!

During the week, local volunteers
will deliver donation bags to residential addresses. Those who want to
participate will place non-perishable items in the bag, and leave it out on
their doorstep by 9:30am on Saturday, September 21st. Volunteers
will return to pick up the bags and deliver them to the food bank. The
fundamental purpose of BCTFD is to raise material and financial support for

Painting wtih Nature’s Found Objects

Kids who love art and nature will
love this upcoming class at the CR Art Gallery. The class (for kids 7-12) will
take place over two sessions (Sept 18th & 25th) from
3pm to 5pm, led by artist and instructor, Perry Johnston. Participants will
learn leaf and rock painting using acrylic paint and acrylic inks – the course
will focus on line and design elements, using traditional patterns to create
original works of art. The cost is $27 for members, $37 for others. All

Composting 101

your household waste while creating fabulous nutrients for your plants and
gardens through composting. This interactive workshop demonstrates the basics
backyard composting and introduces a variety of hands-on techniques. Reduce
your impact on the environment and discover how easy it is to compost (this is
an outdoor workshop). The compost centre is at 228 South Dogwood Street and the
workshop is from 6pm-7pm.

in groups based on running speed and ability; the clinic includes informative
talks and presentations on clothing, stretching and nutrition. Participants
