Lego Day @ the Museum

OK kids, the Museum at Campbell River
is offering a series of 4 Lego days this fall (2nd Saturday of each
month), beginning September 14th, from 1pm – 2:30pm. The theme is
‘Time Travel’. What kind of machine or time craft can you imagine that would
transport you through time? Let’s build them with Lego! Parents are welcome to
join in and co-create alongside their kids – Lego days are great for exercising
the brain and building that creative thinking power. The cost is $5. Call the
museum to register. (Upcoming Lego Days on October 12th, November 9th,
and December 14th).

Sea-beasties Saturday Craft Sessions
The Discovery Passage Aquarium is
putting out the craft table for its young visitors today between 10.30 and
12.30 so can try your hand at making, drawing, and/or colouring your very
own sea-beastie to take home! Perhaps you will be inspired by the critters
inside the aquarium, or maybe by your imagination? Access to the craft table is
free with your Saturday morning admission, so join us for some family sea-beastie
crafting fun!
“A Taste of Figure” with Nicholas Pearce
A painting retreat/workshop with
Nicholas Pearce (Painters at Painter’s) taking place at Heron Guest House on
Quadra Island. Designed for 2 – 6 participants, the cost for the workshop is
$200 for 2 full days of instructive painting; if you choose to stay overnight
at Heron Guest House, please inquire about an additional fee for accommodation

Terry Fox Run (5km)
This year the Run will be held
along our beautiful Rotary Seawalk, giving it a new appeal as well as raised
awareness (not only as an Oceanside event but as an accessible event that
allows bikes, strollers, and can cater to a broader range of participants in
general). The Terry Fox Run will begin at Frank James Park (2191 South Island
Highway); if you are interested in volunteering or would like more info please
call. There is a 5K route with a 10K option: 9am registration, 10am RUN!
Remember this is non-competitive and all inclusive, registration is by donation
