Exhibitions Opening ~ CR Art Gallery
The Campbell River Art Gallery's first two exhibitions of 2013 open Thursday, Jan. 31 at 5:30 p.m. Meet Hornby Island artist Jo Lechay, whose exhibition 'Two Eyes, Five Legs, Right Hand Left Hand' will be in the Main Gallery, as well as Black Creek artist Linda Walton, whose exhibition 'Cool Connections' will be in the Discovery Gallery. Both exhibitions continue until March 8.

Babysitters on Skates
Parents! This your chance to enjoy an evening out while your kids spend Friday night with their friends skating, playing games, face painting, doing arts and crafts and making a snack to enjoy while winding down to a movie. Song Circle
Would you like to sing a song, play an instrument, or jam with other music lovers? Please come out for an evening of informal music at the Community Centre in the lounge (second floor, enter via rear doors). Every Friday from 7PM to 9PM. Missoula Theatre Presents “The Secret Garden”
The Secret Garden will be presented Saturday February 2nd at Timberline Secondary Theatre. Tickets are available for purchase at the Penfield office for $10 each. They can also be reserved for pickup at the event by phoning Steve Koebel at 250.923.4251.

Festive Collage ~ Super Saturday Art Class
Create a colorful collage of leftover Christmas wrapping and other papers. Draw an image, cut or tear paper pieces, and then fill in your drawing resulting in a festive collage. Haig-Brown Write in Residence Presentation
On February 3, from 1pm –3pm, the Museum at Campbell River will host Charlotte Gill to give a slideshow and reading from her book Eating Dirt. A book signing will follow the presentation. Gill’s tree-planting book was nominated for the Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize, the Charles Taylor Prize, and two B.C. Book Prizes. It won the 2012 B.C. National Award for Canadian Non-Fiction. Her previous book, Ladykiller, was a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award and winner of the B.C. Book Prize for fiction. Her work has appeared in Best Canadian Stories, The Journey Prize Stories, and many magazines. Gill teaches creative writing at UBC and the Banff Centre. She is this year's Haig-Brown Writer-in-Residence. Please call the Museum at 250-287-3103 to register. The cost for the talk is $5.00

All Stars Hockey Skills Competition
Join our skate shop staff for a fun afternoon hockey skills challenge. Goofy prizes will be awarded to the various divisions for the hardest shot, fastest skate and more. Lots of fun for hockey players off all ages. Participants will be broken into divisions based on age and experience. Cost is regular admission.
