Charlotte Gill Reads at NIC
NIC’s Write Here Readers Series is pleased to present Vancouver author and current writer in residence at Campbell River’s Haig-Brown House, Charlotte Gill who will read from her memoir Eating Dirt and share photographs from her 17-year journey as a tree planter.
Eating Dirt was nominated for the Hilary Weston Writers’ Trust Prize, the Charles Taylor Prize, and two B.C. Book Prizes. It was the 2012 winner of the B.C. National Award for Canadian Non-Fiction. Her previous book, Ladykiller, was a finalist for the Governor General’s Literary Award and winner of the B.C. Book Prize for fiction. Her work has appeared in Best Canadian Stories, The Journey Prize Stories, and many magazines. Charlotte Gill now resides on the Sunshine Coast.
Gill will present in the Theatre at NIC’s Campbell River campus on Monday, February 25th at 12 noon. The reading is free to attend and open to the community.

Dr. Hook featuring Ray Sawyer
Ray Sawyer, the spirited, eye patched lead singer of the group Dr. Hook, whose soulful and sometimes comic vocals fronted the bands breakthrough to the "Cover Of The Rolling Stone" an international superstar status in the early 70's and 80's, has been touring the United States, Canada and Countries Overseas, since the break-up of the Band in 1984 ,with a new band and a new twist to his familiar sound. Ray's current style is harder edged and more soulful then his previous country-rock and pop efforts, through future releases will show the humor is still there. Admission is $42. Aladdin: The Musical Presented by Timberline Secondary
Timberline Secondary is proud to present Aladdin: The Musical March 1 to 3 and March 7 to 9.
Evening performances will be at 7 p.m. on March 1, 2, 7, 8 and 9. March 3 will feature a special Sunday matinee performance at 2 p.m.
Tickets for the evening performances are $15 adult; $12 seniors; and on Thursday, March 7 students are $8.
The Sunday March 3 matinee includes entrance to the Jasmine Tea and Cookies and features photo opportunities with the characters starting at 1 p.m. Tickets for the matinee, including the Jasmine Tea, are $20 adults and $12 kids (10 and under).

Annual Book Sale Fundraiser - March 2 & 3
The Museum's Annual Used Book Sale & Fundraiser is at hand! Bring your gently used books to the Museum's back entrance off 4th Ave, prior to March 1st. The sale will be on Saturday, March 2nd 10-5pm and Sunday March 3. Please note that we cannot accept Reader's Digest, magazines or textbooks.

Family Swap and Shop
Hosted by Forest Circle Society For Families (FCSF).
All are warmly invited to our public swap event whereby families buy and sell 'gently used and new items' related to baby/children's accessories (up to size 14), toys and maternity items. We are proud to present a family friendly event, whereby children under 14 gain free admission. There will be a free admission kids activity zone, and a refreshment area selling baked items/tea/coffee/lemonade/water. Children are invited and encouraged to sell items at their 'family table', see below for event/buyer/seller info. We wish everyone happy trading and thank you for supporting FCSF.

Create your own unique piece of art for your home or garden using the newest trend...painting a hubcap. You can choose the theme or personalize it in any way you wish. Tidemark Cinema Presents: Gone with the Wind
Gone With The Wind (1939) is often considered the most beloved, enduring and popular film of all time. The famous film, shot in three-strip Technicolor, is cinema's greatest, star-studded, historical epic film of the Old South during wartime that boasts an immortal cast in a timeless, classic tale of a love-hate romance. The indomitable heroine, Scarlett O'Hara, struggles to find love during the chaotic Civil War years and afterwards, and ultimately must seek refuge for herself and her family back at the beloved plantation Tara. There, she takes charge, defends it against Union soldiers, carpetbaggers, and starvation itself. She finally marries her worldly admirer Rhett Butler, but her apathy toward him in their marriage dooms their battling relationship, and she again returns to Tara to find consolation. 1-3pm. Admission: $5.00 at the door
