The summer students at the Museum at Campbell River are pleased to announce that the puppets have returned from their winter hibernation. Every Tuesday and Saturday, beginning today, there will be two shows daily: 10:30AM and 1:30PM. The shows will run through July and August and cost $2 per person (under 3 are free!). The old gang will take to the stage once again, with featured appearances by Peter Puget, Lord Bacon, and even Captain Vancouver. The shows are 20 minutes long and will be followed by a themed craft. 3rd Annual Dragon Boat Regatta

Campbell River’s 3rd Annual Dragon Boat Regatta, sponsored by River Spirit and BraveHearts dragon boat teams, will be at Dick Murphy Park on the Tyee Spit, 9AM-4PM for ‘Race the River’. A free family event with fun for everyone: dragon boat racing, vendors, local entertainers, and Marine Harvest salmon barbecue. To relieve traffic and parking congestion, a free shuttle will be provided throughout the day from the parking lot behind the Discovery Harbour plaza to the race venue. 97.3 FM The Eagle on location. 4th Annual Bonsai Club Show

The Campbell River Bonsai Club is holding its fourth annual show on June 29, 2013. The display opens at 9AM and runs until 4PM. The show is held in the backyard at Sybil Andrews Cottage and is free and open to everyone. Club members will be working on trees during the show and are happy to discuss any aspect of the art-form.

Vancouver’s hottest young country and western band “The Steel Toe Boots” will be on the Spirit Square stage on Canada Day Eve! A Free concert, with the help of Tyee Chevrolet (come down and see their car show on Shoppers Row!) Wear your best cowboy duds and you can win big prizes from Ridgrider’s. Grieg Seafood and Quality Foods will be hosting a salmon BBQ ($5) so bring your lawn chairs, your kids, and your dancing shoes! BBQ and car show at 5PM, Concert at 7PM.

Juried Art Exhibit July 5th to 14th
            Campbell River Grandmothers to Grandmothers, in partnership with the Museum at Campbell River, are celebrating African Grandmothers: Heroes of the Continent. This exhibit will be available to the public by donation, during the Museum’s regular hours (10Am to 5PM Daily).

38th Annual Sequoia Springs Men’s Amateur Golf Tournament July 13th/14th

All Levels Kripalu Yoga: Thursdays at Ocean Resort 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm - Build on the basic postures and explore some advanced asanas to build strength and endurance.
