Weekly we will visit a wonderfully creative garden. These tours offer beautiful gardens, coffee, tea and goodies. Depart and return to the Community Centre. (Scheduled for August 19th as well)

Every Tuesday and Saturday with two shows daily: 10:30AM and 1:30PM, $2 per person (under 3 are free!). In honour of the Beaver Lodge Lands’ 20th anniversary as a park, this dramatic struggle has recently been translated into a children’s puppet show at the Museum at Campbell River.  Entitled ‘Bertie and the Beaver Lodge’, the show features Bertie the Beaver and his friends as they fight to save their homes in the forest.  The show has been designed to teach children to respect the forests and to show them that ordinary people can make a real difference when they work together.  The shows are 20 minutes long and will be followed by a themed craft. Active History Afternoons: Explorer Day

These fantastic themed afternoons at the Museum at Campbell River strive to take you back in time to experience history firsthand. Themes will include logging, fishing, and early exploration and each afternoon will involve unique activities and crafts. Come and join the summer staff at the Museum for these exciting Wednesday afternoons – participation is free with regular admission!
Theatre in the Square
Combines live theatrical performances by Antics Theatre, River City Players & Shoreline Musical Arts Society. 7pm-9pm in Spirit Square; bring your lawn chair, bring the kids!

Discovery Passage Passage from Robert Ostler Park

Setting sail across the passage from CR to Quadra has become a popular summer event for all those with human-powered watercraft. Drawing as many as 150 participants, young and old, accompanied by the Coast Guard and safety boats in a flotilla that comes ashore at Cape Mudge Village where a traditional greeting welcomes the paddlers. Timed with the tide, this year’s event will commence at 2pm! Watch from Robert Osler Park! This is a fun event, no a fund raiser. It’s free and non competitive; no motors are allowed.

Snowbirds Air Show will take place at the Comox Valley Air base (Knight Road); adrenaline-pumping aerial displays plus get up close to air-crafts on the ground, from vintage to cutting-edge fighters. Gates open 9am – 5pm. Air displays 11am – 3pm. Tickets available online and at Thrifty’s Foods.

BBQ at the Beach Salmon has been a staple food of the natives of the Pacific Northwest for thousands of years.  Sandwiched between split cedar poles the salmon is cooked slowly over an open fire.  Enjoy traditionally cooked wild salmon at our beach side BBQ area every Wednesday evening during July and August.
