Tuesday, September 23rd  

  • Immigrant Welcome Centre Potluck Dinner and AGM will take place at Robron Centre, doors open at 5:30pm and dinner at 6pm. To participate, register by calling 250-830-0171. 
  • Shoreline Musical Theatre Society Board of Directors is pleased to announce…. “The Fabulous Fifties: a musical revue” for this November’s Showcase. Come join the fun! If you’re new to shoreline, come meet the directors (Heather Gordon Murphy and Kristy Miller), 7:30pm at RainCoast Performing Arts Studio (938 Island Hwy. Down the hallway from Harbour Nails). Friday, September 26th

  • Comedian Harland Williams will be ‘destroying the city with laughter’ for his COMZILLA comedy tour, coming to the Tidemark Theatre, 7:30pm (19+). www.tidemarktheatre.com 
  • Last day to shop at Peoples Drug Mart downtown on Shoppers Row as they are transferring completely to their Willow Point store. Watch for liquidation sale!

Saturday, September 27th

  • Manipulating Collage with John Schevers 10am-4pm at the Art Gallery (Saturday & Sunday, $160). Students will learn to cut stencils and play with citrus concentrate to manipulate images from National Geographic magazines. Exciting abstract shapes will appear and form the base for a beautiful and original collage. 250-287-2261. 
  • Blackberry Tea & Sale at Campbell River United Church, 2pm-3:30pm. Tea or coffee served with a choice of blackberry pie, scones, shortcake or pavlova. Sale table with blackberry and other fruit jams, jellies and baking ($7). Call 250-287-4621 for more information.

Sunday, September 28th

  • 13th Annual Haig-Brown Festival in honour of the Haig-Brown family legacy and World River’s Day! This family-friendly event provides an opportunity for the public to explore the House and grounds and explores the themes of fishing, literature and conservation – includes fly-tying demos, fly-fishing lessons, children’s games and crafts, good food, great displays and property tours. The festival also serves to showcase local artistic and musical talent and readings from Haig-Brown’s writings are given in the study. Come down and enjoy a day by the river, 12pm-4pm – admission is free! Call 250-287-3103 for more information.
