Monday, September 16th    
Thanksgiving Food Drive – 16th to 21st!

During the week, local volunteers will deliver donation bags to residential addresses. Those who want to participate will place non-perishable items in the bag, and leave it out on their doorstep by 9:30am on Saturday, September 21st. Volunteers will return to pick up the bags and deliver them to the food bank. The fundamental purpose of BCTFD is to raise material and financial support for local food banks. Herb Walk: Medicinal Trees of Innisfree Farm

Painting wtih Nature’s Found Objects

Kids who love art and nature will love this upcoming class at the CR Art Gallery. The class (for kids 7-12) will take place over two sessions (Sept 18th & 25th) from 3pm to 5pm, led by artist and instructor, Perry Johnston. Participants will learn leaf and rock painting using acrylic paint and acrylic inks – the course will focus on line and design elements, using traditional patterns to create original works of art. Composting 101

Learn how to divert approx. %30 of your household waste while creating fabulous nutrients for your plants and gardens through composting. This interactive workshop demonstrates the basics backyard composting and introduces a variety of hands-on techniques. Reduce your impact on the environment and discover how easy it is to compost (this is an outdoor workshop). The compost centre is at 228 South Dogwood Street and the workshop is from 6pm-7pm.

Sea-beasties Saturday Craft Sessions                                                                                                                    
The Discovery Passage Aquarium is putting out the craft table for its young visitors today between 10.30 and 12.30 so can try your hand at making, drawing, and/or colouring your very own sea-beastie to take home! Perhaps you will be inspired by the critters inside the aquarium, or maybe by your imagination? Access to the craft table is free with your Saturday morning admission, so join us for some family sea-beastie crafting fun!
Frogger 15km Race                                             
Running through Beaver Lodge Forest Lands to raise funds for local charity and bring awareness to the 25km Greenways Loop. Beginning at Spirit Square, there will be vendors, music, salmon burgers & awards!
Beginner Run Clinic

Every Saturday from 9am to 10:30am (until October 12th) participants will head out from the Sportsplex in groups based on running speed and ability; the clinic includes informative talks and presentations on clothing, stretching and nutrition. Participants should be able to run for 20 minutes continuously before registering for this clinic. The cost is $20: call or visit us to register!

All Levels Kripalu Yoga: Thursdays at Ocean Resort 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm - Build on the basic postures and explore some advanced asanas to build strength and endurance. Use Pranayama techniques (breathing exercises) to delve into the vibrations of the body. Discover an open mind to sensations in the body as we hold postures beyond our initial desire to release.
