Enjoy a relaxing skate on the leisure ice watching a family movie (rated G or PG) between 5:15 and 8pm, $4/person or $10/family – includes slices of Little Caesars Pizza and a juice box! Movie starts at 6pm.

Saturday, September 14th
Lego Day @ the Museum

OK kids, the Museum at Campbell River is offering a series of 4 Lego days this fall (2nd Saturday of each month), beginning September 14th, from 1pm – 2:30pm. The theme is ‘Time Travel’. What kind of machine or time craft can you imagine that would transport you through time? Let’s build them with Lego! Parents are welcome to join in and co-create alongside their kids – Lego days are great for exercising the brain and building that creative thinking power. The cost is $5. Call the museum to register. (Upcoming Lego Days on October 12th, November 9th, and December 14th).

Black Creek Community Fair                                                                                                           
Live music all day, contests, interactive events, craft vendors, kids carnival, pancake breaky and SO MUCH MORE!! At the Black Creek Community Centre from 9am to 3:30pm.
Sea-beasties Saturday Craft Sessions                                                                                                                    
The Discovery Passage Aquarium is putting out the craft table for its young visitors today between 10.30 and 12.30 so can try your hand at making, drawing, and/or colouring your very own sea-beastie to take home! Perhaps you will be inspired by the critters inside the aquarium, or maybe by your imagination? Access to the craft table is free with your Saturday morning admission, so join us for some family sea-beastie crafting fun!
“A Taste of Figure” with Nicholas Pearce                                                                                           
A painting retreat/workshop with Nicholas Pearce (Painters at Painter’s) taking place at Heron Guest House on Quadra Island. Designed for 2 – 6 participants, the cost for the workshop is $200 for 2 full days of instructive painting; if you choose to stay overnight at Heron Guest House, please inquire about an additional fee for accommodation and meals. Terry Fox Run (5km)
This year the Run will be held along our beautiful Rotary Seawalk, giving it a new appeal as well as raised awareness (not only as an Oceanside event but as an accessible event that allows bikes, strollers, and can cater to a broader range of participants in general). The Terry Fox Run will begin at Frank James Park (2191 South Island Highway); if you are interested in volunteering or would like more info please call. There is a 5K route with a 10K option: 9am registration, 10am RUN! Remember this is non-competitive and all inclusive, registration is by donation and there is no minimum pledge. www.terryfox.org  
2013 VIMX Championship Series (Round 11)
Local Track (Gold River Highway across from McIvor Lake Rd.), Rain or Shine, Racing starts at 9:30am! Advance Tickets available at Boardwalk (986-A Shoppers Row), or tickets at the gate: $10/$5 (children under 6 are free!). Practice day on Saturday, September 14th, On site concession and camping available.
Historical Boat Tour – Desolation Sound

All Levels Kripalu Yoga: Thursdays at Ocean Resort 6:15 pm to 7:45 pm - Build on the basic postures and explore some advanced asanas to build strength and endurance. Use Pranayama techniques (breathing exercises) to delve into the vibrations of the body. Discover an open mind to sensations in the body as we hold postures beyond our initial desire to release. Gem & Mineral Club Meeting: Meetings of the Ripple Rock Gem and Mineral Club of Campbell River are held the 2nd Friday of each month at 7:30 p.m. in the Craft Room of the Community Centre, Campbell River (except July & August).  All interested persons are welcome to attend and learn more about the Club.
Linnaea Farm Lunch Tours Enjoy a tour of our lakeside farm and a seasonal feast featuring the meats, vegetables and fruits of our farm.
