  • Jewelry making with Barbara Goertz at the Campbell River Art Gallery. Basic beading experience required for this 2-class workshop to create a pendant with a cabochon! Materials can be paid for at the workshop – call 250-287-2261 to register.  
  • Medical Hope for Syria. Join Dr. Saren Azer (president of the Canadian non-profit ISPHR) as he speaks about his volunteer work in a Syrian refugee camp and their need for medical supplies. Admission is by donation with all proceeds going to provide medical supplies to the Syrian refugee camps.   • Meaningful Media Night, 6pm at Robron Centre. On the last Thursday of each month the Immigrant Welcome Centre presents an opportunity for compelling discussion on a contemporary issue. This month’s film is “This (Illegal) American Life” and the topic is immigration, temporary foreign workers and racism. Admission is FREE and snacks/drinks are by donation.   • North Island Hospitals Project community information meeting at the Maritime Heritage Centre from 7pm-9pm.

  • Avast ye Sailors and Wenches – Come join the search for Buried Treasure in this musical retelling of Robert Louis Stevenson’s “Treasure Island”. With Jim Hawkins, Long John Silver and crew brought to life by RainCoast Creative Performing Arts students. Younger students will treat us to a pre-show mini-musical called “Hats”. The whole family will enjoy this double feature at the Tidemark Theatre, shows at 2pm and 7pm.  
  • Annual Swing for Charity at Storey Creek Golf Course; 250-202-7500 
  • Bring your old, ‘sensitive’ documents to CR Crime Stoppers for Operation Paper Shred in the Strathcona Gardens Parking Lot (next to the RCMP Detachment Office) 10am-4pm and they will shred it for you on the spot! The Kinsmen Club will also have hot dogs and hamburgers available, the RCMP Safety Bear will be in attendance and ‘camera ready’ or you can get a photo with a Mountie in Red Serge! All proceeds go to support CR Crime Stoppers.
