A New Week, A New Adventure!

     Looking for something to keep you busy for the day? How about heading over to Campbell River's own Pier Street Market taking place by the Maritime Heritage Centre today from 9-2. There are great artist booths to explore, as well as places to grab an awesome breakfast and coffee while enjoying some music by the water.
     Once you finish there, head on over to the Timberline High School gym to check out the Rock and Gem show put on by the Ripple Rock Gem and Mineral Club. This is a great event to take the kids to, and admission is only $3 per person.

     Tuesday will be the second Lunch in the Square of this summer, a chance to come down from 11:30 am to 1 pm to enjoy some free music in the Spirit Square while have lunch. This week's musical performer will be Roy Ashdown.

     Last Thursday we had an amazing performance at the Spirit Square by the band Time Well Wasted, and this week promises to be just as good. Voices Three will be beginning their performance on June 16th at 7 pm. Grab your lawn chairs and be prepared for a promising night.
     On Friday, June 17th, the event that many have been looking forward to is finally coming to town! The 21 Gun salute to Green Day will be taking place at the Tidemark theatre beginning at 7pm. Look forward to a high energy night featuring Campbell River's own Marv "St. Jimmy" Westrum as Billie Armstrong, Jayme "The Disappearing Boy" Langen as Mike Dirnt, and Gary "Drumheller" Langen as Tre Cool. Tickets are $20 dollars and can be bought at the Tidemark Theatre.

     Saturday, June 18th is going to be a great day to be in Campbell River! Discover Campbell River Day will be taking place right here at the Visitor Centre and Spirit Square from 10 am to 4 pm, where we will be providing events such as our scavenger hunt (which can be picked up anytime from now till the event), as well as a chance to learn about all the things there are to do in Campbell River and meet members of the community. There will be food and fun provided for the kids, including a bounce-a-rama and face painting!

     Music By the River will also be taking place Saturday beginning at 1 pm and going into the evening to end at 11 pm. It will be taking place at the Haig Brown House, and the long list of musicians will include Andreas, Wayne Lemke, Cat and the B-Sides, Helen Austin, and many more. Admission to this event is $25 for adults, $10 for youth, and children under 14 are free! Tickets can be found at the Music Plant.This event will also be a fundraiser for theTransition Society of Campbell River and the North Island.
     If none of these events catch your interest, how about coming into town to take advantage of the Campbell River Market Day Sunfest, with 1 mile of market madness beginning at Pier Street. Just follow the Sunflowers to find the deals! This event will go from 9 am to 4 pm.
