Halloween Howl for Tots: This is a fun and interactive Halloween party for you and your tots! Games, crafts and healthy treats make it a fun time for everyone. Costumes required! This party is for ages 18 months to 3 years plus one adult. Cost is FREE! 3-4pm at Strathcona Gardens. 250-287-9234.

Skate & Scare: Wear your costume for free entry to skate and participate in fun Halloween activities like the "mummy wrap," "pass the pumpkin," messy crafts, and more! Guaranteed to be lots of family fun! All ages welcome! 4-6pm at Strathcona Gardens. 250-287-9234.

Annual Pumpkin Smash: Join the Comox Strathcona Waste Management service, the City of Campbell River and the Carihi Green Team to keep tons of organic waste out of our local landfill by having a smashing good time! This is a fun event for the whole family, enter to win prizes, enjoy refreshments and "SMASH" your jack-o-lantern. These pumpkins will be turned into rich compost instead of becoming ghoulish waste. In the Strathcona Gardens parking lot from 12 – 5pm.

CR Garden Club Event: Join the Campbell River Garden Club for a double feature with a wreath-making demonstration and a slide show featuring gardens, both local and abroad. Visitors welcome. Annual memberships available. The Campbell River Garden Club is a forum for the gathering and sharing local and expert gardening knowledge and materials during regular meetings, visits to gardens and nurseries, special projects and associated social events. Island’s Bounty ~ Cheddar & Co. Cooking Class: We live in the place of abundance; let’s learn to cook with ingredients that are close to home. Seafood, mushroom, berries, local bison and cheese will be on the menu for this class. This will be an Island feast! You will be surprised what’s culinary food finds are so close to home and how it will enhance your awareness of the bounty that surround us. Class starts at 6:00pm. Cost is $65 per person. Babysitter on Skates: Parents! This is your chance to enjoy an evening out while your kids spend Friday night with their friends skating, playing games, face painting, doing arts and crafts and making a snack to enjoy while winding down to a movie. April Verch Trio ~ Tidemark Theatre: When you see April Verch perform, the first thing that strikes you is the pure energy that infuses her fiddle playing and step dancing. When you listen to her though, what draws you in are more subtle things-her pure voice, the finely detailed elegance of her fiddle phrasing and the depth of a repertoire that ranges through material from bluegrass to Brazilian to Celtic, from a jaunty Canadian folksong to a poignant contemporary ballad. Her high energy brand of musicianship inevitably brings audiences to their feet, whether at a folk festival in Finland, a bluegrass festival in Oklahoma, a Celtic festival in California, or the Tidemark Theatre in Campbell River. 7:30pm. A Bridge to Africa: Campbell River's Grandmothers to Grandmothers Campaign invites you to spend an evening with guest speaker Shannan Brown as she shares for the first time her experiences volunteering in Tanzania. The evening will also include a screening of the film "How the Tide is Turning", refreshments, and a marketplace offering Kazuri jewellry.  The event begins at 7 pm at the Timberline Theatre. Admission is by donation to the Stephen Lewis Foundation, an organization which raises money to provide support to African grandmothers and their grandchildren, who have been orphaned by HIV/AIDS.

SATURDAY Nov. 5th
Campbell River Genealogy Society Fundraiser : A fundraising event to help support the Genealogy Society. The evening will feature a buffet dinner, trivia night, along with live auctions, silent auctions plus plenty of fun! SPCA Book Sale: Time to reuse, recycle and replace, at the same time helping the animals in need in our shelter. We gratefully accept good used fictional pocket books. Curved Spoon Faces ~ Super Saturday Art Class: Grab a spoon and get drawing! Look at the back of a provided spoon, and then draw what you see. These silly self-portraits are guaranteed to get you giggling! 1-3pm at the Art Gallery. Admission is by donation. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult. FREE Community Meal: The CR Vineyard Church will be hosting a free community meal. Doors open at 3:30pm, dinner served at 4:00pm. The CR Vineyard Church is located across the street from the Haig-Brown House.

Holiday Pottery Sale & Show: Featuring the work of potters from Campbell River, Quadra Island and the Comox Valley. From 11-4pm at the Sportsplex.
