  • Campbell River Festival of Film continues with “Burt’s Buzz” at the Tidemark Theatre at 7pm. Famous for its all-natural, personal care items, ‘Burt’s Bees’ has become a household name in many parts of the world. The company built a might reputation as a producer of eco-friendly products made from simple ingredients and in the process it has become a billion-dollar business. But less well-known is the eccentric man behind the brand, whose bearded face still graces many of its labels. Rated G.

Wednesday, February 12th

  • Philosopher’s Café has moved to the Online Gourmet on Shoppers Row. An informal evening of dialogue on current, controversial topics. This week the hour will consider “Support to our Veterans”. Everyone welcome to join in our friendly forum, or just sit back and listen. Contact Peter Schwarzhoff for more information: 250-778-0333.

Thursday, February 13th

  • Blackie and the Rodeo Kings at the Tidemark Theatre, 7:30pm. Blackie has organically evolved into one of the finest roots-oriented bands in North America. They have developed a feeling of brotherhood which manifests in their sense of groove, blend of timbres and melodic, rhythmic play so distinctively mystical, energizing and constantly evocative. A great Canadian musical treasure! Licensed event (19+). www.tidemarktheatre.com
