NOVEMBER 3rd - 9th

Monday, November 3rd         

  • Wanderlust Film Series at the Campbell River Library. Whether you’re a travel hound or home bound, this eclectic variety of Travel Themed Films is designed to inspire and delight. Monday evening at 6pm: “Revolution”. More info at 250-287-3655.

Tuesday, November 4th  

  • Open Studio: Life Drawing. This is a non-instructional program designed for those who wish to practice their figure drawing skills. Bring along your drawing/painting materials and the gallery will provide the art model! Tuesdays from 6:30-9pm until November 11th. Drop in for $12.50 (GST included).   • “Oh What A Night!” Musical Tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons direct from Las Vegas, 7pm at the Tidemark Theatre ($54);250-287-PINK.

Wednesday, November 5th

  • Rivercity Players present Noises Off, “the funniest farce ever written” by Michael Frayn. Tickets are $20, available at Impressions Custom Framing (250-286-1612), CR Laundromat (250-286-662) and Comfort Zone Foods (250-923-3973). Warning of occasional coarse language. Runs October 29th, 30th, November 1st, 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th at 7:30pm with one matinee at 2pm on November 2nd. Presented at Rivercity Stage at 1080 Hemlock Street. 
  • “Moving Forward in Watercolour” with Caren Heine at the Art Gallery. Wednesday afternoons, 1-4pm from November 5th to 26th. Heine will teach through demonstration as well as giving hands-on help to guide her students through the painting process. Cost is $120, register at 250-287-2261 or email programs@crartgallery.ca. 
  • Gardens Near and Far – be an armchair traveller and join the CR Garden Club for a members slideshow! 7pm at the Baptist Church, ($2 for visitors); 250-923-078.

Thursday, November 6th

Friday, November 7th   

  • Rivercity Players present “Noises Off”, 7:30pm.  
  • The Comedy Assassins are here for one night only! Killer Stand-Up Comedy by Damonde Tschritter and Peter Kelamis at Thunderbird Hall, doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm. Tickets ($23) available at the door, Cap-It (250-287-9787) or Balloons ‘n More Party Shop (250-923-8151). Partial proceeds to Cameryn’s Cause for Kids. 
  • Arena & Pool Sleepover Party at Strathcona Gardens. After everyone has gone home it’s time for some overnight fun – late night skating, swimming, lazer tag, sports, relay races and games! The weary party-goers will wind down with a movie and popcorn in our activity room and wake up to a light breakfast before their parental units pick them up. 8:30pm till 10am ($35, ages 7-11).

Saturday, November 8th

  • Hospital Foundation’s annual Dinner & Dance featuring The Timebenders: 15 costume changes, hilarious impersonations and 50 years of hits! Come dressed as your favorite era and get ready for a GREAT night out. Cocktails at 6pm, dinner at 7pm – no minors. Tickets ($60) available at the Foundation Office (250-850-2418) or the Visitor Information Centre (250-286-6901). 
  • Holiday Pottery Sale & Show at the Sportsplex, 11am-4pm. Featuring the work of potters from Campbell River, Quadra Island and the Comox Valley. 
  • Freeman & Hill free Folk Music Concert, 7pm at the 7th Day Adventist Church; 250-923-2090. 
  • Join local author and historian Catherine Gilbert for a fascinating pictorial presentation about the many vessels that served on Canada’s coasts during World War II, 1pm. This talk coincides with the Museum’s exhibit ‘Our Cenotaph’; book your seat at 250-287-3103. 
  • Little Caesars Family Pizza & Movie Night (All Ages!). Spend the evening floating in the leisure pool and watching a family movie. Admission ($6/$15) includes 2 slices of pizza, a drink and ice-cream cone! 6-8pm; 250-287-9234. 
  • Willow Point Lions Craft Fair, 10am-4pm at the Willow Point Hall; concession open for lunch. 
  • Rivercity Players present “Noises Off”, 7:30pm.
