NOVEMBER 17th to 23rd

Monday, November 17th

  • 2014 Artisans’ Market. For 6 weeks each year, the CR Art Gallery is transformed into a beautiful market featuring a wide variety of creative work from coastal and regional artists. You’ll find locally-crafted items of pottery, woodwork and knitwear to jewelry, glass and soap – not to mention spices, candles and decorations! Stop in this holiday season: Monday to Saturday, 10am- 5pm from November 13th to December 24th. 250-287-2261

Tuesday, November 18th     

  • Join Canadian pianist Sarah Hagen for a Classical Afternoon at the Tidemark Theatre. Joined by special guest violinist Joan Blackman, the concert is sure to delight. Stay after for a reception and to meet the performers! Tickets are $27 at 250-287-PINK. 
  • CR Fall Festival of Film: Like Father Like Son; visit www.tidemarktheatre.com for tickets and information. Proceeds go back to the community. $12 at the door.

Wednesday, November 19th

  • Join conservationist and renowned photographer Ian McAllister for the launch of his new book, The Great Bear Wild and an unparalleled multimedia exploration of our endangered Great Bear Rainforest. 7:30pm at the Tidemark Theatre; www.tidemarktheatre.com ($12).

Thursday, November 20th

  • Artist Trading Cards Event at the Art Gallery, 7-8pm; everyone welcome (free admission). Create some cards, sign the back and bring them to swap! Call 250-287-2261 for more information.

Friday, November 21st    

  • National Child Day festivities at the Community Centre beginning at 9am. Celebrate with performing artists Helen Austen, Sue Pyper & Shoo Shoo the Clown. Enjoy making balloon animals, arts & crafts, storybook readings, music, food and more. 250-286-1161. 
  • Old Fashioned Christmas Bazaar at St. Peter’s Church (228 South Dogwood). Featuring our famous Christmas cake, gourmet preserves, home-baking, hand-knitting, sewing, crafts, collectables, books, jewelry, gift baskets, wreaths, auctions, cool gifts for teens and more! Home-style turkey soup, chili, hot dogs and pie also available! Friday from 1-7pm (Santa 4-6pm) and Saturday 10am-4pm (Santa 11am-2pm). 
  • 40th Annual Rotary TV Auction on Shaw Cable Channel 4 (And streaming LIVE at www.RotaryTVAuction.com) Friday from 6-10:30pm and Saturday 9am-10:30pm. Over 575 items on the block valued at over $115,000. Complete list of items online.  
  • Eiko Jones Photography Grand Opening Open House & Sale. 560 11th Avenue from 12-9pm.

Saturday, November 22nd

  • The Altrusa Club of Campbell River is once again presenting its annual Sing-A-Long movie event: get ready for an enchanting outing with the magical, high-flying and practically perfect Mary Poppins! Costumes are encouraged (but not mandatory!) and there will be prizes for all ages. Get your tickets at the Tidemark Theatre; 250-287-PINK. Event held at Timberline Theatre 
  • Kinsmen Trivia Night at the Community Centre – 250-287-2868 to register. 7-10pm. 
  • 40th Annual Rotary TV Auction on Shaw Cable Channel 4 continues, 9am-10:30pm. 
  • One-of-a-kind gifts made by fabulous artisans are waiting for you at the annual Toy & Craft Show at the Sportsplex. Doors are open from 10am-4pm; free admission. 250-923-7911 
  • Old Fashioned Christmas Bazaar at St. Peter’s Church continues: 10am-4pm (Santa 11am-2pm). 
  • The first big event at the Big Yellow Merville Hall where patrons will have a chance to view the new grounds (i.e. the historic Stolen Church and Manse!): the 5th Annual Christmas Crafts Faire (doors open at 9:30am). 
  • Slopstacle Fun for all ages at Strathcona Gardens from 2-4pm. Come prepared to get covered in goo! Regular admission; 250-287-9234.
